STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – A decision to allow transsexual men in Sweden to get prosthetic penises free of charge from local health authorities has drawn criticism because the prostheses on offer don’t get erect.

Starting on January 1st, 2009 transsexual men (i.e. men who were born as females but have undergone sex-change operations) will, with a note from a doctor, be able to receive a prosthetic penis from a plastic surgeon at no cost, according to Ottar, a magazine published by the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU). genthumbKNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE – Knoxville Police and the FBI are responding to a bank robbery at the BB&T bank at 7709 Northshore.

Dispatchers say the call came in about 12:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say witnesses describe the suspect as a black male, dressed as a woman, wearing pink medical scrubs.

Police also say that a similar robbery occured with the suspect dressed as a female earlier this month. The BB&T bank on Kingston Pike near the Ice Chalet was robbed December 3.

CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA – A snowdropper caught with a secret stash of his neighbour’s lacy knickers was dobbed in by his transvestite niece, in a bizarre case heard at a Cairns court yesterday.

A former lingerie saleswoman told the court she returned from a month’s holiday to discover most of her panties were missing from her North Cairns unit.

After asking her boyfriend if he had been wearing her underwear, the woman questioned her neighbour’s niece about the disappearance of the knickers.

The niece, who was asked to clarify her name and gender by the defence lawyer, later phoned Crime Stoppers when she found six pairs of panties in her uncle’s bedroom.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Several forms of sexual behaviour including cross-dressing and transvestism are to be removed from a list of medical ‘diagnoses’ in Sweden, the National Board of Health and Welfare said Monday.

The agency has in recent years been approached by various organizations including the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU) that have been concerned over the classification system, which is used mainly to compile healthcare statistics.
