UNITED STATES – Adam & Eve is releasing more of the statistics from its Great American Sex Survey this week, and the results are… well, not all that sexy.

The 40 year-old sex toy company and adult industry leader surveyed 1,000 American adults to inquire about intimate acts and has been dribbling out the results bit by bit. Today’s leaked stat: In response to the question “How often are you having sex?” 33 percent of respondents report having sex once or twice a week, and 22 percent report only having sex one to three times a month. The next highest group (19 percent) report having sex three to four times a week – that’s more like it – but another 17 percent answered “seldom” or “never.”

My fellow Americans, I submit to you that this is a recessionary slump we can and must do something about.

Because sexual curiosity is part of human nature, adult entertainment giant Adam & Eve recently commissioned event management and web survey software company Cvent Inc. to launch a sex survey determining Americans’ sexual practices, and the results are being released every month.

BNET readers will remember that Pfizer entered a $75 million pact with Auxilium for the development of Xiaflex in December 2008. And while the pair are developing the compound for use to combat Dupuytren’s contracture (where patients’ hands contract into claws), everyone knows that the other potential use Xiaflex has is for Peyronie’s disease, or curvature of the penis from a buildup of fibrous tissue in the shaft. You can see Auxilium has a trial ongoing here, and the drug in question, “AA4500,” is the same as that used in the Xiaflex trials here.

With the drug now heading to market, the question now is how much of the drug’s sales will be for the off-label Peyronie’s indication? I’m betting not much: Even though the drug works in straightening rats’ tails it must still be administered by injection at the site of the organ, and that can cause bruising.

True Companion claims that the robot isn’t solely used for sex but is rather a life partner or mate for those who can’t find or don’t want the real thing. In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the team said, “Various reconstructive procedures have been attempted to restore a cosmetically acceptable phallus that would allow normal reproductive, sexual, and urinary function in patients requiring penile reconstruction. However, these procedures are limited by a shortage of native penile tissue. We previously demonstrated that a short segment of the penile corporal body can be replaced using naturally derived collagen matrices with autologous cells. In the current study, we examined the feasibility of engineering the entire pendular penile corporal bodies in a rabbit model. Neocorpora were engineered from cavernosal collagen matrices seeded with autologous cells using a multistep static/dynamic procedure, and these were implanted to replace the excised corpora. The bioengineered corpora demonstrated structural and functional parameters similar to native tissue and male rabbits receiving the bilateral implants were able to successfully impregnate females. This study demonstrates that neocorpora can be engineered for total pendular penile corporal body replacement. This technology has considerable potential for patients requiring penile reconstruction.”

The new penises responded normally to electrical and chemical stimuli, and — more importantly — to biological imperative. When given the chance to have sex, eight were able to ejaculate, and four became fathers.

Indeed, they became more aroused than the rest. “Most control rabbits did not attempt copulation after introduction to their female partners,” said the researchers. “All rabbits with bioengineered neocorpora attempted copulation within one minute of introduction.”

The lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court by a woman named Crystal Matchett, is basically the same as the one filed by Shirley Dieu last week — with one exception … Crystal never accuses Dr. Phil of grabbing her boob.

Chan said: “(The men were) more concerned about how their overall body-size compared to the perceived male ideal than they are about how their size might impact on their sexual relations.”

The study showed that men with larger than average penises also reported higher levels of self-esteem, better general health and higher overall body satisfaction. It further revealed that men who were happy with the size of their penis were less likely to have used an online dating service, or Viagra.

Overweight men had lower self-esteem, higher body dissatisfaction and greater use of the Internet for socialising, said the researchers.

Manhunt, a website designed to encourage hook-ups between consenting male adults, has done an utterly scientific survey of dick size based on its ads. “Now that we have cock size as a feature on Manhunt profiles, we couldn’t resist getting a feel for the our member’s packages,” the site said. In DC the average penis size listed was 7.59 inches. In Texas it was 7.30. That’s almost one-third of an inch less loving for Texans on the receiving end of these things, be they male or female.

It’s not as bad as Alaska, which came in at 6.34 inches. Or Oklahoma, which couldn’t break the seven-inch barrier either.

We have to assume that in the gay world there are strictly enforced standards on how to measure one’s erect penis (or someone else’s, for that matter), so we are comparing apples to apples here.

Being Number 15, sadly, is nothing to brag about. (To be sure, this study included only gay dicks. If they had straight cocks in there, the results would be a whole lot different, we’re sure.)

Luckily, gay guys, there are many scientifically proven treatments to increase dick size.

We're not surprised at the findings... only that someone paid for such a study

About half of men, 47%, first look at women’s breasts while one in three target the midriff, Wellington’s Victoria University researchers found.

Less than 20% of first glances were directed at a naked woman’s face, The Press reported.

“Men spent consistently more time looking at the breasts of `naked’ front-posed female images and also made significantly more fixations upon the breasts than other regions of the body or head.”

Study participants were presented with six naked images of the same woman, digitally altered to increase or decrease the size of her bust, waist and hips.

Eye-tracking equipment showed how men examined the images.

However, “men may be looking more often at the breasts because they are simply aesthetically pleasing, regardless of the size”, the study showed.
