Results from the Great American Sex Survey deemed disappointing.

UNITED STATES – Adam & Eve is releasing more of the statistics from its Great American Sex Survey this week, and the results are… well, not all that sexy.

The 40 year-old sex toy company and adult industry leader surveyed 1,000 American adults to inquire about intimate acts and has been dribbling out the results bit by bit. Today’s leaked stat: In response to the question “How often are you having sex?” 33 percent of respondents report having sex once or twice a week, and 22 percent report only having sex one to three times a month. The next highest group (19 percent) report having sex three to four times a week – that’s more like it – but another 17 percent answered “seldom” or “never.” Read the rest of this entry »

WASHINGTON DC, UNITED STATES – The FDA today approved Auxilium (AUXL)’s Xiaflex drug for Dupuytren’s contracture. Or, to translate that into language a layperson would be interested in: The FDA today approved Pfizer (PFE)’s penis-straightening drug for a related condition, claw-hand.

BNET readers will remember that Pfizer entered a $75 million pact with Auxilium for the development of Xiaflex in December 2008. And while the pair are developing the compound for use to combat Dupuytren’s contracture (where patients’ hands contract into claws), everyone knows that the other potential use Xiaflex has is for Peyronie’s disease, or curvature of the penis from a buildup of fibrous tissue in the shaft. You can see Auxilium has a trial ongoing here, and the drug in question, “AA4500,” is the same as that used in the Xiaflex trials here. Read the rest of this entry »

UNITED STATES – US researchers have successfully engineered fully functional penises for rabbits. The technique may someday be useful for people, it is hoped.

In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the team said, “Various reconstructive procedures have been attempted to restore a cosmetically acceptable phallus that would allow normal reproductive, sexual, and urinary function in patients requiring penile reconstruction. However, these procedures are limited by a shortage of native penile tissue. We previously demonstrated that a short segment of the penile corporal body can be replaced using naturally derived collagen matrices with autologous cells. In the current study, we examined the feasibility of engineering the entire pendular penile corporal bodies in a rabbit model. Neocorpora were engineered from cavernosal collagen matrices seeded with autologous cells using a multistep static/dynamic procedure, and these were implanted to replace the excised corpora. The bioengineered corpora demonstrated structural and functional parameters similar to native tissue and male rabbits receiving the bilateral implants were able to successfully impregnate females. This study demonstrates that neocorpora can be engineered for total pendular penile corporal body replacement. This technology has considerable potential for patients requiring penile reconstruction.” Read the rest of this entry »

1013_dr_phil_ex2LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Another woman has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Phil — claiming she too was forced to be in the same room with a “completely naked man, who was exposing his entire naked body, genitals and all.”

The lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court by a woman named Crystal Matchett, is basically the same as the one filed by Shirley Dieu last week — with one exception … Crystal never accuses Dr. Phil of grabbing her boob.

Crystal alleges Phil brainwashed her, exposed her to the naked man and then prevented her from leaving Phil’s production office — the same location where Shirley also claims the weirdness went down. Read the rest of this entry »

bodies-exhibit-makes-controversial-debut-at-mall-of-america_3727722_36ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – About a month back, we wrote about an ostensibly education exhibit featuring preserved corpses making its unlikely debut in the Mall of America. “Bodies… The Exhibition” had elicited outcry for a number reason, the of which being the murky origins of the cadavers– there’s evidence that some were political prisoners from China who died behind bars.

Well, last week another exhibit opened up in Zurich, and this one is sparking controversy for a different reason. “Cycle of Life” depicts corpses in various sexual positions. Lawmakers in Germany are demanding the copulating cadavers be banned, leaving Gawker wondering aloud, “If everyone is dead, is that still necrophilia?” Read the rest of this entry »

An Australian study suggests that men seem to be more concerned about what their mates think, rather than their partners, when it comes to the stature and size of their sexual organ.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Annabel Chan, a Ph.D student at Melbourne’s Victoria University who obtained penis measurements from more than 500 men worldwide, describes this phenomenon as the “locker room syndrome” the Courier Mail quoted her as saying.

“That’s when they feel they should be bigger, whereas when they are on their own, they are actually quite happy with themselves,” she added.
During the study, the researchers asked the men, aged 18 to 76, to indicate their ideal body size, and compare that to what they believed other men would nominate. About 65 per cent of the participants said that their ideal male body size would be smaller than the ideal size suggested by others. The men were also asked whether they believed they would be a better sexual partner if they had a bigger penis. Read the rest of this entry »

(Our first surprise: Up til now, apparently Manhunt didn’t have cock size as a feature in its profiles.) Read the rest of this entry »

We're not surprised at the findings... only that someone paid for such a study

WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND – Men look at a naked woman’s breasts or midriff before her face, according to a New Zealand study.

About half of men, 47%, first look at women’s breasts while one in three target the midriff, Wellington’s Victoria University researchers found.

Less than 20% of first glances were directed at a naked woman’s face, The Press reported. Read the rest of this entry »
