ASIA – Tech blog Gizmodo posted a photo and blurb claiming the Pole Dance Doll is a real product, albeit one made in Asia for sale at off-price retailers. And while bloggers, parents and child development experts everywhere are aghast, I have to wonder why.

Isn’t this, after all, the logical extension of our popular culture? Reality TV has brought strippers into our living rooms so we can root for them to find true love, win lots of money or effectively punch out the stripper doing tequila shots next to them. Read the rest of this entry »

naigai_times_july10TOKYO, JAPAN – Around 10:30 AM on June 7, police forced a sightseeing bus on the Kanetsu Expressway in the lane headed away from Tokyo to pull over to the roadside. When they boarded, the cops were treated to the sight of blushing, semidressed passengers.

“He was in his underwear,” says one of the officers, describing Toru Kizaki, a 54-year-old TV script writer. Kizaki was arrested on charges of public indecency along with Yoshiko Yamazaki (37), who is currently unemployed. Read the rest of this entry »

JAPAN–Triumph international, the same guys who came up with the eminently practical Chopstick Bra, have channeled their proudly insincere energies into fake-solving Japan’s declining marriage rate. Behold… The Marriage Hunting Bra.

The garment’s described objective is to allow marriage-minded women to essentially wear their ambitions, with a chest-mounted countdown clock (to what?) , pen and seal holster (for signing marriage contracts), and a ring receptacle that beeps “The Wedding March” when filled.

The whole assemblage looks like it would attract more unsolicited boob-touches than marriage proposals, but boob-touching is a known precursor to matrimony. Fact. In other news, somewhere in a quiet suburb of Tokyo, a retired feminism professor just swallowed a gun. Read the rest of this entry »

Only in Japan would a pandemic cause men to seek out close, intimate contact with complete stangers.

Only in Japan would a pandemic cause men to seek out close, intimate contact with complete stangers.

TOKYO, JAPAN–Entertainment news site Zazak (May 2) predicts a boost in demand for the fuzoku (sex-related) industry over the Golden Week holiday as a result of the recent influenza scare.

Dubbing the additional business as “pandemic visits,” the article believes that single salarymen with excessive time on their hands over the holiday, which ends this week, and nothing to fulfill their lower body will be flocking to Japan’s entertainment areas in lieu of taking overseas trips, now a risky bet given the increasing concern over swine flu.

Well, dear readers, we don’t even know how to begin to describe this video. Well, we do, actually. It involves hot women, fire arms, and sex toys. And, no, it’s not behind the scenes footage of the Republican National Convention. It’s more Japanese TV game show madness…

TOKYO, JAPAN – Japan’s best-known pop band faces an uncertain future after one of its members was found cavorting naked in a public park in Tokyo in the early hours today.

Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, a member of the hugely successful band Smap, was arrested on suspicion of public indecency after police officers found him seated naked on the grass near the Roppongi entertainment district at 3am. Read the rest of this entry »

In yet another amusing bit of Japanese television, we have a commercial for Mikado something or other. Maybe a tubular biscuit? Tough to say. But it certainly involves another biscuit…

JAPAN – Japanese in one part of the country celebrate the start of spring by celebrating fertility in the form of the penis. The penis is represented by a giant float of a penis, and smaller penises which are stroked by adults and children (seriously, see the video), bringing luck for the coming Harvest.

The footage below is kind-of NSFW, although no real penis is shown. What more can I say, other than JAPAN. Read the rest of this entry »

One more reason to love Japan

One more reason to love Japan

TOKYO, JAPAN – Almost mistaken for a pile of onions, these prizes in a Japanese boob claw machine beat almost every stuffed animal we can think of in terms of uniqueness.

We’re not sure where it is, or how easy it is to pick up a boob compared to something less arousing, but we’re going to have Ashcraft win one of these and mail it to us. He wrote the book on Japanese Arcades; he should be able to fish a boob out of a box NO PROBLEM.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Barry Gisbourne, who was awarded the MBE by the Queen for his military actions, admitted a total of 14 sex charges on the day he was due to stand trial.
