Investigators went to the assisted living facility in the 12700 block of West Alameda Parkway last week after the family of the victim indicated they had video of the caregiver having sex with the woman.

Police say the family installed a hidden camera in the victim’s room in late December. Investigators say the family became suspicious that the woman was being mistreated.

Police arrested 41-year-old Gabriel Paul Cabral. He’s been charged with crimes against an at risk adult.

Police say Cabral has worked at more than one assisted living facility in the area.

Cabral has been booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

Sung Kyu Chung, 41, gave evidence in Sydney District Court last week where he has pleaded guilty to fraud charges.

The senior manager, who worked in the Korea Exchange Bank’s Sydney office, was charged in December, 2008 by City Central Fraud Unit detectives.

Chung faced a preliminary sentence hearing last week. He is due to be sentenced later this month.

The court heard he regularly splashed out on business-class flights to Thailand, where he would visit high-priced prostitutes and stay in five-star hotel rooms.

Prosecutors questioned Chung over alleged “gifts” he bought for the escorts. These included a Mercedes-Benz sedan given to a Thai prostitute and money transferred to another Bangkok call-girl to buy a house.

Chung pleaded guilty to siphoning a total of $7.2 million from the bank by staging at least 77 false transactions.

The court heard he used $1 million of the plundered funds on education and medical fees.

A further $1.1 million was used to buy a house in Marsfield, which has been seized, while $500,000 was lost on a bad investment with Lehman Brothers, the US investment bank which collapsed in the global financial crisis.

A significant amount of the missing money has yet to be recovered.

The seven-year fraud was uncovered in 2005 when Chung was subjected to a blackmailing attempt by a former colleague, the court heard.

In 2008, auditors from KPMG discovered massive discrepancies in the bank’s finances.

The court heard that between 2001 and 2008, Chung routinely used the log-in names and passwords of bank clients to send money to his own account.

When the transfers were complete, he fudged computer and accounting records to mask the transactions as having been carried out from overseas, confusing his bank superiors.

He has been allowed conditional bail while he awaits sentencing.

A part-time handyman and gardener, he had been employed for years by some of his victims who trusted him with keys to their homes.

But while alone Stafford, a bachelor, would creep into their bedrooms, rifle through underwear draws and masturbate before replacing the knickers and also stealing some of the garments.

One suspicious homeowner who began to notice the thefts then planted hidden cameras – which captured one episode with Stafford in the bedroom naked from the waste down acting out his fantasy, the court was told.

The 14-minute DVD was passed to police and Stafford’s home searched where officers found stolen underwear which were marked with the women’s names on them, the court heard.

Stafford, of Sandycroft Place, Preesall, who resigned as mayor after being arrested, was jailed for two years after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to three counts of burglary with a further count taken into consideration.

The charges relate to the homes of four women in Poulton-le-Fylde and Stalmine in Lancashire.

After hobbling into court using a walking stick, past his victims in the public gallery, his jaw dropped as he was sent down by Judge Heather Lloyd, who told him his actions were ”bluntly revolting”.

”Your private desires or fantasies which should only be your concern became public when you decided to do what you did in the homes of those who trusted you,” she told him.

”To masturbate into a woman’s underwear and place it back in the draw, repeatedly, as seen in the DVD, as you have done in other homes is bluntly revolting and the impact on your victims is high.”

The court heard the victims were ”embarrassed, disgusted and shocked” to discover how the man they trusted was getting his ”sexual kicks”.

“I thought burying my sister was the hardest thing I’d ever had to do,” she told Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Nadine Allen. “I thought we could just put it behind us and lay it to rest, but when this happened, I re-lived her death all over again.”

“This” was one of two counts of gross abuse of a corpse for which morgue worker Kenneth Douglas was sentenced Tuesday. In all, Douglas pleaded guilty to having sex with three corpses when he worked at the morgue from 1976-92.

Douglas was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday for having sex with the corpses of Apling and Angel Hicks. That’s in addition to the three-year prison term imposed on him in 2008 after he pleaded guilty to having sex with the corpse of Karen Range who was murdered in 1982. He had sex with Range’s corpse which was bloody, its head almost severed and had been stored in the morgue cooler for hours.

Mishael Apling was just a young boy when his mother was killed.

Apling asked the judge Tuesday to send Douglas to prison for the maximum possible sentence.

“He raped a five-months pregnant dead woman,” Apling, now in his mid-20s, said.

The judge said Douglas’ crimes were depraved.

“There’s a reason we say ‘the dearly departed, may they rest in peace.’ What happened he isn’t even primitive. It’s depraved and inhumane,” the judge said.

Douglas, 56, of Westwood, apologized. “There is no excuse for my crime,” Douglas told the judge. “If I wasn’t under the influence, this never would have happened.”

Prosecutor Joe Deters believes Douglas violated many more corpses but he can’t prosecute those cases.

“He was, by his own admission, out of control,” Deters said. “If you extrapolated it, there are many, many corpses he did this to. ‘Scores’ is a good word.” But the prosecutor doesn’t have any evidence to prove those cases even though Douglas confessed to them.

“Just because someone confesses to something doesn’t mean they can be convicted,” Deters said. “We have to have evidence to prove a crime.” After DNA tests matched Douglas to semen in Range’s corpse, officials compared his DNA to body fluids on other corpses during the 16 years Douglas worked at the morgue.

Just two cases – those with Apling and Hicks as the victims – matched Douglas’ DNA.

Forged ... registrar sold fake degrees

UNITED KINGDOM – Karl Woodgett, 37, sent an email asking for participants in a “pain management study” before taking the Cameroonian women to a hotel where he filmed himself spanking and caning them.

In return for their sexual favours willing participants Elsie Neh and Mbone Kemba were offered forged university degree certificates.

Woodgett, former registrar at the University of Surrey and the University of Bath, had already perfected the system with his ex-wife and her relatives.

He was today handed a nine month prison sentence, suspended for one year, and ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid community work.

Fraud

Woodgett pleaded guilty to conspiracy to make false instruments, namely university degrees, and two counts of possessing articles for the use of fraud, namely two bogus degree certificates from the University of Bath.

Sentencing him at Bristol Crown Court, Judge David Ticehurst said: “This was a clear breach of trust by you.

“It goes to the root of what universities are about and if they have administrators such as you who are prepared to falsify documents then the whole point of that purpose is undermined.

“You have already suffered immense personal loss as a result of your actions. You have lost your job, career, professional reputation and your marriage.”

Woodgett first began to forge bachelor and masters degrees for his Cameroonian ex-wife Delphine Kah and members of her family while he worked at the University of Surrey.

Emails uncovered later by Kah’s employers discovered that he sent her long lists of potential degrees from the university and asked her to choose which she wanted for herself and family.

He went on to forge certificates for Kah, her mother, stepfather and sisters in degrees ranging from Media Studies to International Services.

Woodgett asked Kah to find other potential candidates for bogus degree certificates and established a price structure ranging from £500 for a 2.2 undergraduate degree to £1,000 for a Masters qualification with distinction.

In emails discovered later the pair joked that this new enterprise would be named “Karl and Kah’s Crooked Certificates”.

James Ward, prosecuting for the UK Border Agency, said: “This was the start of a mail order business run along the lines of a fast food takeaway where customers recorded their orders with a number.”

He added: “He did not want Kah for sex but to indulge his spanking fetish with her because she had a black bottom.”

From May 2007 Woodgett was registrar at the University of Bath where he continued with his bogus degree scam.

He borrowed a colleague’s login details for a degree database and managed to slip in bogus names to be approved by senior officials at the University’s ‘senate’ meetings.

He then managed to extort blank degree certificate papers from colleagues by telling them that he was conducting a review of how certificates were printed.

In 2008 he enlisted two Cameroonian women from Bath, Elsie Neh and Mbone Kemba, to participate in a “pain management study” at a local hotel.

He filmed their spanking and caning sessions, which were consensual, and paid the women for their time.

But he later discussed the possibility of ‘paying’ them with bogus university degree certificates to advance their careers — which were later found on his computer during a police investigation.

Mr Ward added: “To satisfy his sexual nature he introduced himself as ‘Dave’ and told them he was conducting a ‘pain management study’.

“He took Elsie to a hotel in Bath where various things took place of a sexual nature which he told her were for carrying out research.”

The UK Border Agency were alerted to the case amid fears it could be a major immigration threat.

Judge Ticehurst heard that Woodgett, who now lives in Ewell Minnis, Kent, was the sole carer of his two-year-old daughter from another relationship and was in danger of going bankrupt.

Kah, 31, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to make false documents and was handed a four-month prison sentence, suspended for one year.

Several days ago, a mother of seven in Budapest, Hungary who was living in deep poverty and unable to pay her bills, responded to an ad advertising for actors for fetish type S&M films. In Hungarian currency, she was promised as much as about $900 dollars, and told that she would only be lightly beaten, and to act like she was being tortured. And she was given a “safe word” to use, should she feel uncomfortable at any time during the filming. Everything seemed just fine. The pay seemed pretty good for some relatively safe and reasonably harmless play acting. And the company appeared to be professional enough not to raise some red flags.

The only problem was that woman was lied to. She was beaten bloody after she repeatedly called out the “safe word”, and cried for the abuse to stop, and reportedly, even the film producer came over to beat her as well. After the filming, one room was even set up like a makeshift hospital unit where an ambulance driver treated her injuries, including some bleeding wounds. The woman was so upset that she didn’t leave her home for several days afterwards, then in a shaky hand wrote to police complaining about this outrageous and unprofessional assault and battery.

Police in Hungary began an investigation and found an old abandoned house that had been purchased and retrofitted just like a crack drug house with heavy security and doors. So a Hungarian SWAT special police type team was needed for a police raid. During the raid, police handcuffed a number of persons including actors and cameramen involved in shooting another film. Three persons were charged with sexual battery charges, but are now reportedly free on bail awaiting trial and further investigation. And several websites run by the movie company were shutdown by the Hungarian authorities. Even though the company originated from Budapest, Hungary, the websites were reportedly hosted out of the Caribbean somewhere.

Hungarian news TV ran almost a five minute story about this raid a few nights ago. Days after the film, police photographed a number of slowly healing injuries the woman still had.

Interestingly, under Hungarian law one cannot consent to be beaten, so now those arrested could now face serious sexual battery criminal charges for any previous films made, even if the actors fully consented to that filming and acting. Like most other European nations, Hungary has little or no laws regulating the adult entertainment film industry, however Hungary’s sexual battery laws made this country unsuitable for shooting these sort of abusive fetish films for this underground film company. Several more women are now making statements to police that this company went way too far as well.

In the United States, the adult film industry centered mostly around Northridge, California operates with movie permits granted by the state, open studios and allows open state inspections of film shoots for safety and legal reasons. Further, there are both legal and business associations that adult film companies belong to that set up legal boundaries for that multi-billion dollar industry. Many states and the federal government also have a number of obscenity laws, that create a legal climate of censorship and tight artistic control. And most companies closely follow the law, and have never had any legal problems. Films like this Hungarian film just aren’t filmed in the United States. It crosses way too many legal boundaries. But in some former Eastern-bloc states like Hungary, some small underground film companies operate on shoe-string budgets that produce odd films. One Website reporting service estimated the value of the film company in Hungary to only be around $25,000, not including the old home used as a movie studio. That’s pretty small compared to big multi-million dollar American adult entertainment film companies.

Another big problem with the Hungarian company was probably that the company was so unprofessionally run that it was probably more organized around satisfying the sexual desires and interests of the company’s owners and producers than it was in producing a legal and professional product. Regardless, this bizarre little film company is probably gone for good now, and the catalog of films that they produced will probably disappear as well. A strange little film company appears, then strangely, it disappears. Even the worst independent film company would have operated better than this little Hungarian company apparently did.

Well, it’s like your mother used to say: “It’s all fun until someone gets hurt. And arrested”.

Barker, who ran West Cambridge Hypnotherapy in Hardwick, had told the naïve woman a ”sexual matter was at the route of her problems”.

As the visits went on her told the woman she ”she needed to express past emotions” and began complementing her on her appearance after asking her to wear a skirt.

Mr Howarth said: ”Barker said it was natural for her to become aroused when recalling such incidents.

”Barker told her touching ‘heightened her emotional sensations’ and began asking sexual questions.

”He told her it was for her own good and asked her to touch her own breasts.

”She refused and he then used his left hand to stroke her breast and held it there for over a minute.

”He told her ‘yes you like this. Does it feel nice?’.

”He then used his free hand to remove her trousers and knickers and began to rub her.”

Barker then told her ”relax, open your legs enjoy it” before she snapped out of her hypnotised state and realised she was half naked.

He then said ”we could have had sex but I wanted to keep it professional at the moment” before she fled the scene.

After three months of ”worrying” she finally contacted Cambridgeshire police to report the incident in late January 2009 after checking normal procedures on the internet.

When questioned by police Barker told them: ”The woman started to masturbate but there was nothing I could do to stop it.”

Barker, wearing a blue woollen jumper, was tearful and shaking visibly as Judge Anthony Bate told him he would leave the court ”in disgrace”.

Judge Bate said: ”You gained the trust of a vulnerable woman. She was your patient who you were there to help, not abuse, when she submitted herself to hypnotherapy.

”You crossed the boundary and despite your own difficulties you leave this court in disgrace and invariably in custody.”

Lindsay Cox, mitigating, said Barker was ”genuinely remorseful” and had been struggling with the break-up of his marriage at the time of the assault.

His brother had also been placed on a life support machine following a motorbike accident.

He said Barker had ”become extremely fond of the lady and had believed in a degree of reciprocation” in the weeks leading up to the assault.

He added that during hypnosis: ”One retains ultimate control of their actions and they do not become helpless automatons or lose awareness of what happens to them”.

Barker qualified as a hypnotherapist in 1998 and described his sessions which cost between £40 and £80 as a ”non-addictive power for good”.

A police helicopter was sent to the 2000 block of North Bush Street around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday after Santa Ana police were flooded with calls about the naked man who was performing a sexual act either to or at drivers, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

Police say the man was 36-year-old Charles Edward Meaux Jr., a transient in the area and an alleged white supremacist with a long criminal history.

Meaux, who has a white supremacist tattoo above his left eyebrow, climbed down a ladder and hid inside a home where a family and a child were present, Bertagna said.

The family was evacuated as a precaution.

Police say Meaux was found inside a closet and struggled with police, forcing them to use a Taser to subdue him.

Meaux was arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary, indecent exposure, obstructing and resisting officers, and disorderly conduct, Bertagna said.

His bail was set at $150,000, according to jail records.

Meaux was last locked up on Jan. 15 and released on Jan. 21, apparently in a similar incident.

Meaux has a criminal history in Orange County that began in 1995, The Orange County Register reported.

Since then he has reportedly served time in jail and in prison, and on probation, for offenses including burglary, theft, possession of a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, loitering to engage in illegal drug activity, resisting a peace officer, making criminal threats and trespassing.

Maury County Sheriff’s investigators said Thursday that 58-year-old James Michael Tait pleaded no contest on Monday and was given 10 years of probation. Forty-four-year-old Kenny Thomason, the farm owner, pleaded guilty on Tuesday and was given 2 years of probation.

Investigators said they seized videos in the case.

King County, Wash., authorities say Tait in 2005 videotaped another man, Kenneth Pinyan, having sex with a horse. Pinyan later died of internal injuries from the incident.

The Washington investigators said they found about 100 pornographic bestiality videos of Tait and others. Tait got a suspended sentence on a trespassing conviction, and Washington later outlawed bestiality.

No one disputes that an on-duty Irvine police officer got an erection and ejaculated on a motorist during an early-morning traffic stop in Laguna Beach. The female driver reported it, DNA testing confirmed it and officer David Alex Park finally admitted it.
When the case went to trial, however, defense attorney Al Stokke argued that Park wasn’t responsible for making sticky all over the woman’s sweater. He insisted that she made the married patrolman make the mess–after all, she was on her way home from work as a dancer at Captain Cream Cabaret.

“She got what she wanted,” said Stokke. “She’s an overtly sexual person.”

Yeah, she wanted it. She wouldn’t have gone outside if she didn’t want it. Now here are some of the background facts that suggest very strongly that the cop had been stalking the stripper, followed her and deliberately pulled her over on a secluded stretch of highway:

Meanwhile, Park was on patrol in the southwest portion of Irvine. Prosecutors believe he was craving a sexual rendezvous, and so he watched for Lucy’s white BMW to leave the strip club parking lot, then tailed her, waiting for an excuse for a stop. Park insisted he’d been cruising on the 405 north and coincidentally saw Lucy’s vehicle weave and speed.
Kamiabipour, the prosecutor, shook her head in disbelief. She knew the facts–that the officer had waited at least eight or nine minutes before stopping the stripper on a secluded section of a highway that was out of his jurisdiction.

“He was stalking her,” she said.

Four months earlier, Park had stopped Lucy under similar circumstances. That time, he’d ignored a plastic drug baggie he’d found in her car and her suspended license. But the stop wasn’t a waste of time. After friendly chit-chat, the officer had scored Lucy’s phone number. Telephone records show that Park called the stripper the next morning. She told him she was too busy to meet.

On the witness stand, Park explained that he’d called Lucy out of concern for a citizen’s safety. He also shrugged his shoulders when Kamiabipour slowly listed the first names of nine Captain Cream female employees–Annette, Denise, Rashele, Marlia, Brandi, Andrea, Deborah, Laura and Shannon–whose license plates he’d run through the DMV computer in the weeks prior to his sexual encounter with Lucy. (Another coincidence, according to Stokke.) Jurors also learned that Irvine Police Sgt. Michael Hallinan had previously warned Park as they left work to stay away from the strippers.

Park, who works in construction nowadays, conceded that he’d been given the warning but claimed that he had no clue it was Lucy in the vehicle or that she had an invalid driver’s license, even as he approached her car window.

Kamiabipour believed she’d caught the 6-foot-3 cop in a lie. Records show he ran the bosomy, 5-foot, 110-pound dancer’s license plate before the stop, did not call for backup despite the potential for an arrest and failed to tell his supervisor or dispatch that he was leaving Irvine. Several Irvine officers testified that Park’s behavior that night was odd.

“[Park's] testimony was just incredible,” said Kamiabipour. Irvine city officials must have doubted his story, too. After an exhaustive police internal affairs investigation, they felt it was prudent to give Lucy $400,000 to make her civil lawsuit go away–for fear a jury might give her much more.

In a secretly-recorded phone call to Laguna Beach police shortly after the incident, Lucy recalled that she’d told Park she had no license. Park began “rubbing himself up against me,” she said. “Then, he said, ‘What are we going to do here, Lucy?’”

Park unzipped his pants, took his penis out and got an erection, she explained. “Basically, the officer made me give [him] a freaking hand job and he let me go. I’m so freaked out about it.”

(Lucy also told police, prosecutors and the jury that Park had also fingered her vagina and fondled her breasts before he ejaculated on her.)

“I was confused,” she told the Laguna Beach dispatcher. “He called me afterwards. I’m scared, you know . . . What’s an Irvine cop doing hanging out at a strip club in Lake Forest?”

Telephone records prove that Park made a 19-minute call to Lucy shortly after their encounter. The officer–who told the woman he was “Joe Stephens,” an Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputy who had died months earlier–said it was a friendly call to make sure she’d arrived home safely. The stripper said he told her to keep her mouth shut.

And then Kamiabipour introduced the bombshell evidence from a high-ranking Irvine police officer: on the night Park tailed Lucy out of the city, the global positioning system in his patrol car had been disconnected without authorization.

“I checked and [the GPS] was not working,” said Lt. Henry Boggs.

An unexplainable coincidence, Park’s defense countered.

Ah yes, those unexplainable coincidences can be very convenient like that. A jury of one woman and 12 men acquitted the officer. After all, it was the Good and Virtuous Police Officer against the Slutty Stripper, right? Though, to be honest, after spending the last several years documenting hundreds of cases of cops lying on police reports, I’d be a lot more likely to believe the stripper.

Absolutely appalling. The good news is that a prosecutor finally was outraged enough to put a cop on trial; the bad news is that a jury didn’t care.
