How Often Are You Having Sex?

Results from the Great American Sex Survey deemed disappointing.

UNITED STATES – Adam & Eve is releasing more of the statistics from its Great American Sex Survey this week, and the results are… well, not all that sexy.

The 40 year-old sex toy company and adult industry leader surveyed 1,000 American adults to inquire about intimate acts and has been dribbling out the results bit by bit. Today’s leaked stat: In response to the question “How often are you having sex?” 33 percent of respondents report having sex once or twice a week, and 22 percent report only having sex one to three times a month. The next highest group (19 percent) report having sex three to four times a week – that’s more like it – but another 17 percent answered “seldom” or “never.”

My fellow Americans, I submit to you that this is a recessionary slump we can and must do something about.

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ — Sexual curiosity is a part of human nature. Because we all want to know how we compare to others sexually, Adam & Eve asked over 1,000 American adults a number of questions about their most intimate acts… and the results may surprise you!

“This news is a bit disappointing to us,” said Adam & Eve Director of Public Relations Katy Zvolerin. “Studies have shown that a healthy sex life can lower blood pressure and improve overall health. At Adam & Eve, we encourage a sex positive relationship between loving, consensual adults.”

The third highest level of respondents (19%) reported they had sex three to four times a week, and the next highest group (17%) said they had sex “seldom” or “never.” Only 4.8% of the adults surveyed said they enjoyed sex five to six times a week. And around 3% said they had sex once or more than once a day.

Because sexual curiosity is part of human nature, adult entertainment giant Adam & Eve recently commissioned event management and web survey software company Cvent Inc. to launch a sex survey determining Americans’ sexual practices, and the results are being released every month.

The web-based survey, conducted by Cvent, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices. For more information about Adam & Eve, visit their website at http://www.adamandeve.com/news.
