PATTAYA, THAILAND – The winner of this year’s Miss Tiffany’s Universe transvestite beauty contest was announced in Pattaya, Thailand on Saturday.

Twenty year old Sorrawee Nattee edged out 29 other competitors to win the annual event.

All contestants in the competition were born male.

A spokesperson for the Miss Tiffany’s Universe pageant said the contest aims to raise awareness and increase acceptance of transvestites.

“Miss Tiffany Universe from the start, we would like to have the equality in the society for the transvestites and also just want the people to treat them right,” Alisa Phanthusak said.

Sorrawee will go on to compete in Thailand’s international transgender beauty pageant, Miss International Queen.
