Ontario Police Investigate Lingerie Thefts

RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA– Police said Tuesday that a burglar who has struck nearly 30 times seems interested in one item, women’s lingerie.

Detectives said they are concerned the Ontario-area burglaries could escalate into a violent crime. Officers canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday as part of the investigation.

The crimes date to May 2007. They occurred in the Las Casitas Apartments on Campus Avenue.

“He has a fetish for stealing women’s underwear,” said Officer Anthony Ortiz. “At times, he’s even taken a small amount of jewelry.”

The subject entered through unlocked windows and doors, police said.
