MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – Alabama’s Attorney General, Troy King, who took an adamant stance against gay rights, was caught by his wife, Paige King, having sexual relations in their bed with a male assistant. Since then, the announcement of King being named the chairman for John McCain’s Alabama Leadership Team has been removed from the presidential nominee’s website, and King is watching his political career coming down in ruins.
Though his office denies the rumors that King was kicked out of his house in Montgomery by his wife, many are speculating that Alabama Governor Bob Riley will ask the conservative Christian Republican to resign from his post. His plans to run for the position of being Alabama’s governor in 2010 have seemingly been wiped out.
During his law studies at the University of Alabama, King often wrote for The Crimson White, a student publication, about the negative impact of homosexuality, which he called the “downfall of society.”
King has also worked to get sex toys outlawed in Alabama; he is the defendant in a suit involving sex toy retailer Sherri Williams.
“I don’t know Troy King any more than having sat across the table from him during appeals hearings. But in my experience, it’s the guys that are the guiltiest that prosecute the hardest,” said Williams.
