Police Respond to Naked Man Call

NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA – A 43-year-old man was being held without bond Thursday on a charge of indecent exposure, the third time he’s been arrested on that charge, police said.

Newport News police received a report about 3 p.m. Tuesday of a naked man in the Deer Park Baptist Church lot on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, said Officer Harold Eley, a department spokesman. Officers arrived and found Kenneth Wayne Dillard, who was wearing jeans but told police he’d taken off his clothes because he was hot, Eley said.

Officers didn’t immediately arrest Dillard, of Ark in Gloucester County, because they didn’t see him naked, but the witness filed charges and police arrested Dillard on Wednesday, Eley said.

Dillard worked as a Daily Press paper carrier delivering to the Denbigh area but didn’t show up for work Wednesday.
