Cyclist Kicks Flashing into High Gear

A naked man makes people think twice about bicycle rentals.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY – Police in Hunterdon County are continuing to search for a bicycle-riding flasher who exposed himself Thursday afternoon when asking for directions, authorities said. Police said a thin, white man between his late 30s and early 40s asked a woman for directions at about 4:15 p.m. in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County.

Thursday’s incident follows a string of lewd acts by a suspected serial flasher who authorities said has been exposing himself to women during afternoon bicycle rides in Hunterdon County.

In October, both Clinton Township and Readington police departments reported lewd acts where a man riding a bicycle exposed himself after asking women for directions. Though police detained several men after the incidents, they were later released.

Authorities also had issued a general alert about the acts and the suspect’s description over police radio in Hunterdon and Somerset counties. Franklin Township police said Thursday that they may attempt to coordinate their investigation with other police departments.
